do we know if they are still friends to this day? or did they lose contact, drift apart, move to different cities, maybe a card during the holidays but don't call anymore...? or are they still in daily contact, the story of the tack coming up every now and then as a tale to tell at dinner parties, a moment shared...
this is sweet, simply rendered with the usual pow of emotional impact that you put into all your work - and that sets your's apart from other's. it's a cute, positive piece that made me feel warm.
as always, it's in the details: i love the wrinkles on the lion's brow, the tack in the mouse's little hand and the expressions on both their faces.
actually the more i look at it, the more mousey looks like 'hehehe, now you are forever in my debt' while lion is just 'oh i am so grateful to you buddy, you are a fab mouse.'
